“Essay on the real Art of Piano Playing” (Text in German)  Reprint of the first edition Berlin 1753 and 1762, with extensive biographical and subject index – music examples in modern clefs.  On the one hand this is a practical teaching book which brought about many innovations in the areas of technique, ornaments and refined playing of a figured bass; on the other hand is is a significant document of the “new music” aesthetics favoured by the generation between J.S.Bach and the Vienna Classic.
