The FX100-D supports AES3, AES3id, S/PDIF and TOSLINK functionality with a freely selectable sampling rate up to 192 kHz and a sync input for external clock sources. It allows testing of analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog devices such as A/D or D/A converters, as well as purely digital devices.The signal generator may be clocked by the internal high-precision oscillator in a range from 28 kHz and 192 kHz. Alternatively, the signal source can be synchronized to a wide range of external clock references such as AES3 house clock, PAL/NTSC video clock or to the AES3 analyzer input sample rate.
