#html-body [data-pb-style=BVAA9V8]{justify-content:flex-start;display:flex;flex-direction:column;background-position:left top;background-size:cover;background-repeat:no-repeat;background-attachment:scroll}#html-body [data-pb-style=XUDTYAI]{max-width:360px}Franz Liszt (Composer) | Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi (Composer)RigolettoConcert-Paraphrase about the quartet by Franz LisztPiano
The opera paraphrases take a prominent place among Liszt’s complete works as a self-contained art form alongside original compositions. Feruccio Busoni values the high artistic merit of these compositions in the manner in which their well-considered structural planning in the arrangement of form and contrast and the endeavour to expand and embellish the chosen motifs place Liszt’s opera fantasies apart from the “plebeian potpourri”. The early Verdi paraphrases, particularly this Rigoletto-Paraphrase composed in 1859, are far superior to the later paraphrases (including those based on Don Carlos and Aida). This exceedingly brillant concert piece based on arguably the most famous quartet in the history of opera is particularly significant for the unique way in which Liszt is able to bring together the juxtaposition of extreme contrasts – the Duke’s ardent declaration of love, Maddalena’s prattling rejection, the grief-stricken cantilene of Gilda’s and Rigoletto’s furious parlando – as in Verdi’s original, resulting in a marvellous formal unity.

Beethoven – Concerto In D Major For Piano & Orch Op.61
Beethoven, Ludwig vanConcerto for Pianoforte and Orchestra in D major op. 61 after the Violin Concerto- High quality Bärenreiter Urtext edition- Urtext solo piano part and an additional piano part with fingering- New kind of presentation of the piano reduction incorporating solo piano parts as customary in the 19 th century
After attending the premiere of Beethoven’s stately concerto for violin and orchestra Muzio Clementi approached the composer and requested the work in a transcription for piano and orchestra; his wish was fulfilled in 1807 providing us with not just an alternative version of the composition but also one with authentic cadenzas which Beethoven had not written for the Violin Concerto! This version has waited a long time to be properly edited after the existing sources and the famed Beethoven scholar Jonathan Del Mar has done just that!Working with all known sources, Del Mar finally presents us with Beethoven’s solo piano articulation and dynamics and Beethoven’s cadenzas. And, for the first time we now have clarity regarding the meaning of Beethoven’s Solo and Tutti markings. All in all, a groundbreaking scholarly critical edition; a “must“ for every pianist, every orchestra and every music library. The piano reduction will be presented in a new format:As customary in the 19 th century there will be a solo piano part containing tutti passages, cues and the piano solo. This part will be inserted – as with string and wind concertos – in the piano reduction. This affords the soloist sensible page turns and offers the possibility to lead the ensemble from the piano. The piano reduction will include the reduction of the orchestral score as well as the solo piano part above it in small print.€34,90€38,70Available in 1-3 days

Beethoven – Piano Concerto op. 61a after the Violin Conc. op. 61
LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVENPiano Concerto op. 61a after the Violin Concerto op. 61
Very few musicians are aware of the fact that Beethoven arranged his violin concerto also as a piano concerto. It is only recently that some pianists have discovered this truly rewarding work. Clementi, the London composer and publisher, had heard about the première of the violin concerto and probably sensed its potential. He asked Beethoven for a piano version, which was actually also published in 1808, at the same time as the original. Several important cadenzas had been especially composed for it; the one for the first movement is accompanied by the timpani – a unique and original touch! Our edition (piano reduction and study score) contains the text from the Complete Edition of Beethoven’s Works.
